The attempted abduction happened late Monday afternoon in the 1000-block of East 63rd Street just after 3:45 p.m.

The 11-year-girl was walking home from school when a man wearing all black(black long-sleeved shirt/black pants) along with a black skimask grabbed her from behind attempted to force her into the back of a full-sized, white van with painted windows.

The girl who was able to escape told police she saw another young girl inside the van with her hands and feet duct-taped screaming for help.

The police are describing the offender as an African-American male, about 5'11" with graying hair on his wrist.
