On Thursday (August 22), Vince Staples launched his new web series, The Vince Staples Show, along with the first episode's corresponding song, "So What?" According to a press release, the new project "showcases Staples' music and unfiltered personality in short videos set in some of the wild situations Staples finds himself in."

"Each episode revolves around a pivotal moment in which a new Vince Staples original song will be released as a stand-alone single," it continues. The first episode, also titled "So What?", sees the rapper get into an intense fight while getting his hair cut at a barber shop. The song's lyric video shares the same barber shop motif.

"So What?" is the first song Staples has released on his new label, Motown Records, and is his first new music after dropping his third studio album FM! in November 2018. The California MC's collaborator Calmatic directed the series. He also worked with Staples on his "Fun" video and notably directed the visuals for Lil Nas X's record breaking single "Old Town Road."
