Gov Larry Hogan Announces Requirement To Wear Face Coverings In Public

During Governor Larry Hogan's live update Wednesday afternoon, he announced all Marylanders will soon be required to wear some sort of face covering while in public places such as grocery stores and pharmacies, and while riding public transportation. Additionally, all essential businesses will require their employees to wear face coverings. This state-wide mandate will go into effect Saturday. April 18th at 10AM.

Governor Hogan also made mention of a gradual rollout of plans to reopen the state and the economy, with more details to be announced next week. The governor is seeing "positive signs of cautious optimism."
